What originally started as a simple piece of Special Research where players would help Professor Willow as he looks into Pokémon like Meltan and some of Team Go Rocket’s actions has now evolved far beyond that. The Let’s GO! spirit is still there, but now Pokémon Go players are dealing with Shadow Raids, Shadow Mewtwo, and the addition of the Master Ball.
It is no longer tied to a single event, but rather spreads to the entire Season 10: Rising Heroes finale, which closes with the Rising Shadows event from May 21 to 28—before the season itself ends fully on June 1. And this season is closing out with a bang that caters to players like myself who are looking for new challenges.
Throughout the end of the season, and the Shadow Rising event, players can complete the final stages of the Let’s GO! Special Research, which I and the community have been asking about for months, to get the first Master Ball available in the title. They can also access Shadow Raids for the first time, which includes Shadow Mewtwo making an appearance on May 27 and 28.
