Of all the new Pokémon joining Scarlet and Violet in The Teal Mask DLC, it seems Poltchageist is by far the most anticipated, and the fact that it has an evolution makes it even more exciting.
That’s right, just like Sinistea, Poltchageist has its own evolved form, but that’s not where the similarities end. To get this new evolution, called Sinistcha, you’ll need to find two specific items. We get it, searching across the land of Kitakami for one specific item doesn’t sound like the most enjoyable task, but you can relax. We’ve got you covered.
How to evolve Poltchageist into Sinistcha in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC
You can evolve Poltchageist into Sinistcha with the help of two special items—the Unremarkable Teacup and the Masterpiece Teacup. But the item you use on Poltchageist will depend on which form you have. If you have the Counterfeit Form, use the Unremarkable Teacup. If you have the rarer Artisan Form, use the Masterpiece Teacup. You can check which form you have by looking at the bottom of your Poltchageist. If it has a square stamp, congratulations—it’s the Artisan Form. Sounding even more like Sinistea isn’t it?
Evolving Counterfeit Poltchageist into Sinistcha
To find the Unremarkable Teacup you need to head to the top left of the map and visit the area called Paradise Barrens. In the rocky marsh, you’ll find a cave. Inside is the Unremarkable Teacup. To help all those visual learners like me, we’ve included a video that should take you right to your prize.
Now that you’ve acquired this item, all you need to do is open your inventory and select it. Choose “use,” and you should be able to pair it with your Counterfeit Poltchageist. If you’ve not caught this new Pokémon yet, then you’ll want to head to the bottom of the map to catch one.
Evolving Artisan Poltchageist into Sinistcha
Like the Unremarkable Teacup, you can also find the Masterpiece Teacup in a cave. This one, however, is in Timeless Woods in the top right corner of the Kitakami map. Head to the southernmost part of the woods and look around for a cave.
You’ll know you’ve got the right cave if there’s a sleeping Snorlax in front of the entrance. Fight or walk around the Snorlax, and you’ll find the Masterpiece Teacup waiting for you in the Poké Ball inside the cave. Use it on your Artisan Polchageist for a rare Sinistcha with the stamp of authenticity.
Once you use one of the teacups on Poltchageist, you’re done! Now you have a brand new Sinistcha to take into battle.
