Taking out the elite four in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk isn’t as simple as besting them in battle. No, this time around you’ll need to complete trials first—and one of these will have you sharpening your culinary skills.
Crispin has quite the challenge ready for you before you can battle them and it will see you acquiring ingredients and crafting a Super-Spicy Sandwich. While this sounds simple enough, if you’ve tried to do it, like us, you were probably left confused. Like, what is the difference between a Spicy Sandwich and Super-Spicy Sandwich? Well, Crispin knows and he wants it a specific way.
Fortunately, once you understand what you need it’s extremely easy to pass this trial and get to the battling portion of this challenge. Here’s what you must do.
How to make a Super-Spicy Sandwich in Pokémon SV The Indigo Disk DLC
To complete Crispin’s trial in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk, you’ll need to select various ingredients to make a Super-Spicy Sandwich, and while this might look confusing at first, if you know what you need it only takes seconds.
You cannot use ingredients you already own and, instead, must gather ingredients from NPCs nearby. Not every ingredient you are provided with needs to be used in the recipe, however, but you’ll need to gather them to trade. I recommend the following steps:
- Defeat the girl to the right of Crispin to receive Potato Salad.
- By the cactuses, speak to the boy with blonde hair and trade your Potato Salad for Onion, Cucumber, and Prosciutto.
- Two NPCs are talking to each other by some more cactuses. Speak to the one on the left and trade the Cucumber for Chili Sauce.
- Find the girl with dark hair, beat her to get Mayonnaise.
- Return to the two NPCs talking by cactuses, now speak to the one on the right. He’ll ask which ingredient is composed of Egg, Olive Oil, and Vinegar. Select Mayonaise to receive all three items.
- Go to the three trainers huddled together, and speak to the one offering Chorizo. You’ll trade your eggs for the ingredient.
- Next to the Chorizo student, speak to the one offering either Mustard or Marmalade. Choose Mustard. If you do misclick and get Marmalade, you can trade that for Mustard instead.
- The final student in the huddle will give you Japapeno in exchange for Prosciutto and Olive Oil.
- Alternatively, you can buy Jalapeno for 50 BP from the student behind the rock, or defeat them in battle.
You’ll now have all the ingredients you need, so head back to Crispin to create the sandwich. To pass the Elite Trial, you need to make a sandwich with Onion, Jalapeno, and Chorizo as the ingredients, with Chili Sauce and Mustard as sauces. Once the sandwich is made, you’ll be free to tackle Crispin.
