Because you have to catch these Dynamax Pokémon, players start from the ground up and have to teach the Pokémon a series of new attacks. These Pokémon are the only ones that can venture into Power Spots to participate in Max Battles against other Dynamax Pokémon, which means you need to consider their attacks carefully. Here’s what you need to know about the best moveset to teach Dynamax Charizard in Pokémon Go.

If you want to catch a Dynamax Charizard, make your way to any of your local Power Spots that has a Dynamax Charmander in Pokémon Go when you have enough Max Particles. After defeating and catching it, you can evolve your Dynamax Charmander into a Dynamax Charizard. The best moveset to teach a Dynamax Charizard is the fast move Fire Spin and the charged moves Blast Burn and Dragon Claw.

When picking Charizard’s fast move, Fire Spin is the optimal choice as it provides Charizard with a sizeable amount of energy for its charged moves. Alternatively, if you want a Charizard that has a wider moveset, teaching it to use Wing Attack is a strong choice. If you teach your Dynamax Charizard to use Wing Attack, it can use Flying, Fire, and Dragon-type moves against other Dynamax Pokémon, but the real important choices are its charged moves.

You have multiple charged move options when figuring out what charged moves to teach your Dynamax Charizard. These are the charged move attacks you can teach it in Pokémon Go.

  • Blast Burn (Fire-type)
  • Dragon Claw (Dragon-type)
  • Fire Blast (Fire-type)
  • Flamethrower (Fire-type)
  • Overheat (Fire-type)

When it comes down to it, Blast Burn and Dragon Claw are your best choices. These are the strongest and least energy-demanding charged moves you can teach a Dynamax Charizard in Pokémon Go. It’s crucial to teach them different charged move types as well. When you unleash Charizard’s Dynamax Form, it can use a new move called Max Move, an empowered attack based on its charged moves. Having two different charged moves gives Dynamax Charizard the most coverage, meaning it can be super effective against various Pokémon during a Dynamax battle.

Is Dynamax Charizard good in Pokémon Go?

A Dynamax Charizard should not differ too much from a standard Charizard in Pokémon Go. You can use both of them in the same activities, but a Dynamax Charizard can participate in Max Battles and sit on Power Spots. You’ll want to primarily focus on reserving this Charizard to visit Power Spots to assist other players against Dynamax Pokémon.

It never hurts to have multiple Dynamax Charizards, especially if there are several Power Spots available for you to visit in your local area while playing Pokémon Go.
