Here’s what you need to know about the best moveset for Dynamax Venusaur in Pokémon Go.

If you want to catch a Dynamax Venusaur, it all comes down to participating in Power Spot activities. You should find one with a Bulbasaur as the raid boss, and you can bring up to three other players to challenge it. A Dynamax Pokémon is required to challenge Dynamax Bulbasaur. After you catch it, evolve it into a Dynamax Venusaur, which you can use at other Power Spots. The best moveset to teach Dynamax Venusaur in Pokémon Go is the fast move Vine Whip and the charged moves Frenzy Plant and Sludge Bomb.

Similar to the standard Venusaur, Vine Whip is the best fast attack available for Dynamax Venusaur in Pokémon Go. The other move you could go with is Razor Leaf, another Grass-type attack, but Razor Leaf falls short of Vine Whip. Vine Whip can do five damage and generates four energy in two turns. Razor Leaf can do nine damage, but only generates two energy in two turns. Although Razor Leaf deals more damage, Venusaur can expect to use its stronger charged attacks more often with Vine Whip.

The stronger charged moves is how a Dynamax Venusaur can unleash the most damage during a battle. These are all the charged moves a Dynamax Venusaur can learn in Pokémon Go.

  • Frenzy Plant (Grass-type)
  • Petal Blizzard (Grass-type)
  • Return (Normal-type)
  • Sludge Bomb (Poison-type)
  • Solar Beam (Grass-type)

Frenzy Plant and Sludge Bomb are the strongest options available for Dynamax Venusaur, and they’re the best attacks you’d expect from a standard Venusaur, too. It’s important to have multiple types of attacks available to Venusaur because when it enters its Dynamax form, it can unleash Max Moves, which are empowered attacks of its charged moves. You want two unique attack types to use against various Pokémon. Dynamax Venusaur is a Grass and Poison-type, making it super effective against Fairy, Ground, Rock, and Water-types in Pokémon Go.

Is Dynamax Venusaur good in Pokémon Go?

As it stands, Dynamax Venusaur is one of the few Pokémon that can counter a Fairy-type. This will expand as more Dynamax Pokémon are available in the mobile game, but it’s a fantastic choice if you want to counter Fairy, Ground, Rock, or Water-type Pokémon that appear at Power Spots. It won’t be the best option against any Fire, Flying, Ice, or Psychic-types, though.

Because you can use your Dynamax Venusaur in other activities, having a strong Venusaur is always a good idea. It’s an excellent choice in the Great League and a powerful Pokémon to use against Team Rocket in Pokémon Go.
