With Inteleon being one of the three starter Pokémon you can pick in Sword and Shield, there’s a lot of hype about its arrival to Pokémon Go. You should expect to use it with the exclusive Dynamax system, even if you don’t always use Inteleon on your team. Here’s what you need to know about the best attacks to teach Inteleon the best moveset in Pokémon Go.

There are only a handful of options you can go with to make Inteleon‘s best moveset in Pokémon Go. The best attacks you want to select is the fast move Water Gun and the charged moves Surf and Shadow Ball. Inteleon is a Water-type Pokémon, which makes it weak against Electric and Grass-type moves.

For Inteleon’s fast move, Water Gun sits as the best option. It outshines the only other choice you can teach Inteleon, Pound, a Normal-type attack. Water Gun is a relatively average Water-type move, as it does three damage and provides three energy. Pound is slightly more potent, as it does four damage, but it gives two energy and takes two turns to use it, while Water Gun only requires a single turn. You always want to go with Water Gun for Inteleon, plus it receives an additional attack bonus because it’s a Water-type Pokémon.

Now, for the charged moves, there are a few more options to consider. However, not too many more. As Inteleon makes its debut in Pokémon Go, it doesn’t have a large selection, but we can see that it will expand in the future when it receives a Community Day and is featured in other events.

These are all the charged moves Inteleon can learn in Pokémon Go:

  • Shadow Ball (Ghost-type)
  • Surf (Water-type)
  • Water Pulse (Water-type)

Shadow Ball and Surf are the best attacks for Inteleon when picking charged moves. Although Water Pulse is sometimes picked over Surf, it works better for Inteleon as it is a lower-cost attack in Pokémon Go. You can expect to use Surf far more often than Water Pulse, an appealing choice for a Pokémon with a high attack and low defense. Shadow Ball is an excellent choice as it’s a high-powered Ghost-type Pokémon, making Inteleon effective against Ghost and Psychic-types.

Is Inteleon good in Pokémon Go?

Although Inteleon has a high attack power, its lower defense stats make it vulnerable to many Pokémon, even if they’re not Grass or Electric-types. You want to be careful when using Inteleon, and it might be better for you to use it in PvE encounters, such as raids and battling Team Rocket.

While Inteleon is not a leading choice when battling other players, it has the potential to be extremely useful in the future. It could become a great choice with adjustments to Inteleon’s moveset with future Community Days and events in Pokémon Go. For now, better to catch a good one and keep it in your collection purely for PvE encounters.
