Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has a few Pokémon that can only evolve using a Fire Stone, regardless of the level they are. For the first time in the series, a grass monster can evolve using a Fire Stone, and that is spicy pepper Pokémon Capsakid evolving into Scovillain. To get there, you first have to get a Fire Stone in one of the many locations you can find it.
Stones have been a way to evolve certain Pokémon since the beginning of the series. They’ll often pop up in areas themed after the element of each individual stone, or hidden in particularly hard-to-reach spots.
If you need to find a Fire Stone to evolve one of the hotheads in your Pokémon team, check out the guide below for the best places to get Fire Stones in Paldea.
How to get a Fire Stone in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
The most consistent way to get a Fire Stone in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is very straightforward: buy one in Mesagoza at Delibird Presents for 3,000 Pokédollars. The store is a great place to find and buy many things in the game, and the same is true for evolutionary stones. Just select “General Goods” when you enter, and you should find them, as long as you’ve beaten at least three gyms in the Victory Road path.
You can find branches of Delibird Presents in multiple places around Paldea, but the simplest to find are the two located in Mesagoza, just as you enter the city through its southern gate.
You can also buy Thunder and Water Stones at Delibird Presents for the same money sum.
Players can also find Fire Stones in the game’s overworld, although the places they can find them aren’t as consistent. Fire Stones are available to pick up as randomly spawning items in East Province Area Three or by going East towards Levincia from East Province (Area Two) Pokémon Center, where you can find a Fire Stone next to a tree.
A third method to get a Fire Stone is filling up your Pokédex. You get a free Fire Stone after catching or evolving 60 unique Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet. Just follow the steps below to claim it:

- Press A to open the Pokédex detailed view.
- Press X to open the Pokédex Completion rewards screen.
- You will see the Pokédex milestones animation fill up automatically until you get a Fire Stone when it reaches 60. The stone will be in your bag in the “Other Items” section.
