LG is the fourth esports organization confirmed for the event so far, with numerous other teams being comprised of streamers and content creators. PUBG’s first LAN will take place from Aug. 23 to 26 in Cologne, Germany. With PUBG recently surpassing 500,000 concurrent players on Steam, and 60 million hours of the game being consumed by Twitch viewers this past July, it will be interesting to see how the game’s popularity carries over into an esports setting. The gamescom PUBG Invitational will consist of games played in Solo, Duo, first person Duo, and Squad formats. There is a total of $350,000 in prizing on the line.
