To reach this kind of sales number before the game has even been officially released yet is beyond impressive. Fun and simple gameplay, combined with word of mouth and a ton of popularity on Twitch, have played key roles in helping the game reach this height. This newest accolade comes just three days after PUBG reached a new high of over 900,000 concurrent players on Steam. It was also the most-watched game on Twitch in August, meaning that even when people aren’t playing PUBG, they’re watching it. Up next for PUBG is a slew of bug fixes and optimizations, along with additions like a climbing and vaulting system. There’s still plenty of work to be done before the game is officially released some time before the end of 2017.
