If you’ve gotten used to the pace and cadence of the encroaching deadly blue zone in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, you’ll have to readjust pretty soon as PUBG Corp. is tweaking how it works.
A new patch will be available on the game’s test server soon. In short, there will be less time between occasions of the circle moving, and it will be deadlier in the final stages of the game. The circle itself will actually move a bit slower, however.
The most drastic change is felt early on with much shorter delays between the blue zone’s movement phases. The second “looting” phase will now be just 90 seconds instead of 200 seconds, which is a big difference. The phases after that have also gotten much faster.
When the circle is moving, though, it will be slightly faster in the early stages of the game. Once the third phase begins, however, it will slow down drastically. This should allow for more strategic movements and less panic while the circle closes in.
The damage of the blue zone is unchanged up until the seventh, eighth, and ninth phases of the game. In the final phases, the circle’s damage is increased by one, two, and three damage points respectively, so it’s going to hit hard.
Improvements have also been made to Miramar, as more roads, off-road paths, and car spawning positions have been added. An oasis has been added to the north side of the map, and a new village is coming to the northwest.
Finally, in a small but long-requested and welcomed change, clothing will no longer spawn as loot in the map. You will only find useful items, weapons, and equipment now.
