Smite 2 is the next step for the franchise, and while all the Gods and Goddesses from Smite won’t initially be in the sequel, they’ll come over time—and we’re ranking them as they drop.
At the time of writing, there are 23 Gods and Goddesses available to choose from in Smite 2, but as you’d expect, they don’t all compare. Some are much stronger than others.
Whether you’re an experienced player looking for a new God to perfect or a beginner wondering where to start, check out our tier list for a full ranking. We update this tier list after each major Smite 2 update.
Smite 2 Gods tier list
S-Tier
Bacchus
Bacchus is one of the strongest characters in Smite 2 right now. He can be a thorn in the enemy’s side thanks to his ability to set up his teammates, and he deals an incredible amount of damage with the right build.
His abilities include knock-ups and stuns, while his Ultimate intoxicates enemies to deal damage and hamper movement. With the right team composition, Bacchus can lead the charge in any battle and is difficult to overcome.
Loki
Loki has long been one of the best Gods in the Smite franchise, and he continues to stand strong in Smite 2. He can go invisible and sneak up on enemies, dealing extra damage when attacking from behind.
The ability to go invisible and to hide in long grass across the map makes Loki a threat in every game. You can also use his Ultimate as an escape, if you choose, improving his survivability.
Sol
Sol benefitted very well from the move to Smite 2 and stands as a highly viable Goddess. You can either build her to focus on ability damage or opt for basic attack.
Although Sol is more late-game-focused than other highly-ranked Gods in our Smite 2 tier list, she’s worth the wait, as she hits top gear late in the game. Her passive ability increases Strength, Intelligence, and Attack Speed, with a boost to basic attack damage at maximum heat.
Jing Wei
The crop of Hunters in Smite 2 is relatively weak right now, but Jing Wei tops the pile. She can deal incredible damage, and her traversal is second to none. Whether entering a fight or escaping one, Jing Wei’s ability to take to the sky and quickly move across the map is invaluable.
Although her ability skills are lacking, the key to Jing Wei is her basic attacks. With the right build, she can single-handedly take down almost every God in a one-on-one fight and can turn the tide in team battles.
A-Tier
- Bellona
- Fenrir
- Hecate
- Kukulkan
- Susano
- The Morrigan
- Ymir
The Assassin class in Smite 2 is in a strong position, with Fenrir and Susano both ranking in the A-Tier. As for Mages, The Morrigan is featured here, mostly due to her ultimate ability that lets you mimic any God in the game—which can be overpowered in the right team composition.
Kukulkan and Hecate are both solid options, especially for clearing lanes quickly. Ymir doesn’t rank as high as Bacchus, but can still be a formidable choice with options to focus on offense as well as defense.
B-Tier
- Cernunnos
- Anubis
- Hades
- Mordred
- Chaac
- Thanatos
- Zeus
Cernunnos is one of the better Hunters in Smite 2 right now, but doesn’t quite stack up to Jing Wei. The same can be said for Thanatos in the Assassin department. Although both can be strong, there are better options.
The B-Tier is full of Mages, with Hades, Anubis, and Zeus featuring here—all of whom can dish out huge amounts of damage, but don’t have the best survivability. While this is a common problem for Mages, they’re hampered by their lack of an escape ability.
Finally, Chaac and Mordred can both be very effective when built correctly, but may struggle to get involved in games.
C-Tier
- Athena
- Anhur
- Neith
Aside from Jing Wei in the S-Tier, the Hunter class in Smite 2 is weak right now. Both Anhur and Neith feature in the C-Tier because, while they can be effective, they aren’t as strong as other options and don’t have much that sets them apart.
It’s a similar story in the Guardian department beyond Bacchus and Ymir, with Athena sitting in the middle of the pile. She’s saved by her ultimate ability that quickly transports you into the fray.
D-Tier
- Odin
- Ares
On the bottom of the pile are two Guardians, Odin and Ares, who are the worst Gods to choose in Smite 2 right now—largely because their ultimate abilities are easy to escape from.
Plenty of Gods and Goddesses have abilities to escape from Odin’s ring, while the Phantom Shell and Blink Relics provide other options. The situation is similar with Ares: plenty of characters have abilities that make them CC-immune and, if they don’t, Purification Beads are readily available.
