In Starfield, ammunition is crucial. Without it, survival can be a daunting task. And while running out of ammo in is easy to do, getting more ammo is a more difficult task.
Fortunately, there’s more than one way to get your hands on ammo in Starfield, allowing you to restock if you’ve ran out or to prepare ahead of a big mission. Here’s how you can get more ammo in Starfield.
Where to buy ammunition in Starfield
Below, you will find all the Vendors we have found in Starfield so far, along with where to find them:
Ammo Vendors in New Atlantis
Jemison Mercantile
The best place to buy ammo in Starfield is from Jemison Mercantile in New Atlantis. It’s also one of the first shops we ran into out games, and you’ll most likely find it quickly, too. You can find the store on the left-hand side of the security bay after entering the city. Just head down the ramp and head left; you’ll notice above you a sign pointing to “Hotel & Shopping” directly in front of that sign. You should be able to see the Jemison Mercantile logo beside the building. It looks like an art exhibit initially, but the NPCs there will sell you ammo.
Centurion Arsenal
Another location in New Atlantis is the Centurion Arsenal in the Residential district. After taking the transit in the spaceport the shop will be to your left. At the Centurion arsenal, you can purchase practically any ammo type.
UC Distribution Center
UC Distribution is found in the Commercial district. After fast traveling to the district, follow the path on your right passing the ramp. The UC Distribution building should be in sight with big UC letters. While UC Distribution primarily sells resources, you can buy ammo, grenades, spacesuits, and weapons.
Ammo Vendors in Akila City
Rowland Arms
Rowland Arms is distinctively a gun shop. So, you can get the ammo you desire, but selling items is limited to guns. Rowland Arms is located on Main Street to the left of Shepherd’s General Store.
Shepherd’s General Store
When using the spaceport, walk the main path. Shepherd’s General Store will be on the left on that main path. The main items available are guns, gear, and ammo.
Ammo Vendors in Neon
Neon Tactical
Neon Tactical is in Neon’s Core, adjacent to the Trade Authority. Neon is a bright and vibrant location. Neon Tactical shares that same look.
You can buy ammo from vendors in other cities, too. The prices aren’t too dissimilar, either. Just be prepared to spend thousands of Credits no matter which one you choose, especially if you haven’t been looting ammo.
How to refresh a vendor’s ammo inventory
The best way to restock a vendor’s stock is to wait or sleep for 24 in-game hours using a chair or bed. The only exception is the Ship Services Technicians, who need 48 hours. Most vendors have a chair nearby.
Best ways to get more ammo in Starfield
The best ways to get more ammo in Starfield are looting and purchasing from vendors.
When you defeat enemies, they drop their weapons and ammunition. So if you take down an enemy that is armed with a gun, you can loot their weapon (containing ammo) and the ammo itself from their body once you’ve killed them. This tactic is not only efficient but also strategic, encouraging players to target those with firearms when their ammo runs low.
Beyond combat, the game world itself is rife with opportunities to pick up ammo. Hidden crates, often tucked away in corners, contain valuable ammunition. If you’ve upgraded your Scavenging skill, these crates yield even more ammo. So, if you’re often running low, boosting this skill can be a game-changer, ensuring you’re always battle-ready. You can also steal ammo from enemy ships or pickpocket it from NPCs with guns.
If you would rather buy your way to a full ammo pouch then vendors should be your go-to. Spread across the game, these traders sell ammo. It will set you back some Credits, but it’s a surefire way to stay equipped and ready for any Starfield challenge.
