The Teamfight Tactics Set Eight meta has begun to settle with Set 8.5 on the horizon, showcasing around a dozen S and A-tier end-game comps worth playing.
Patch updates for TFT Set Eight returned to normal with Patch 13.4, along with a better balance between AP and AD end-game comps. Most of the update changes were balance tweaks while a large focus remained on getting Hero Augments in a solid spot.
Returning to the top of the TFT Set Eight meta during Patch 13.4 were champions like Zoe, Yuumi, and even Lee Sin. Attack damage end-game comps are still strong but players have more options in this patch to flex between AP and AD end-game comps than previous updates in Set Eight.
Top-ranked TFT Set Eight Patch 13.4 comps
Emerging from Patch 13.3 and 13.4 was a new TFT Set Eight end-game comp that focused on Lee Sin, the Hero Augment Cleansing Safeguard, and tank items. The comp didn’t quite make it to S-tier status but is still a solid build to run with when the convergence stars align. Kai’Sa with Double Trouble emerged as a dangerously strong comp through Patch 13.4 and Miss Fortune earned her TFT Set Eight meta spot back as potentially the most consistent AP end-game comp to run.
Here are the best TFT Set Eight end-game comps to play during Patch 13.4.
Sureshot Samira and Aphelios
Samira has been one of the best AD carriers in TFT Set Eight since Monsters’ Attack! dropped into live servers. She was then joined by Aphelios in what has become known as the Sureshot Aegis comp. The build synergizes with the Underground trait as an early-game option, providing enough gold for players to hit both two-star Samira and Aphelios when rolling down during the late-game Stages.
Endless Pizza was the original best Hero Augment for the TFT Set Eight comp. Delivery Tips, Sivir’s other Hero Augment, is another viable option. Players can use any of the Hero Augments from Vi and Senna as well. Regular Augments to watch for include Clear Mind, Second Wind, and Thrill of the Hunt.
Both Samira and Aphelios work best with attack-damage items. Aphelios wants a Guinsoo’s Rageblade for increased attack speed while both want an Infinity Edge. Giant Slayer and Last Whisper help weaken the opponent’s team. Hextech Gunblade is a solid item choice for Samira. Both Ekko and Sejuani are the frontline units that want tank items. And five-cost champions like Urgot and Fiddlesticks typically fill out the comp.
Kai’Sa Recon
Kai’Sa Recon Reroll first has been a popular TFT build since the new year. Despite rising and falling in the meta, the end-game comp has returned to S-tier status in Patch 13.3. Ezreal, Vayne, and Ashe provide backline support while the frontline is typically made up of only Threat units. Running Ekko and Nilah is also an option on the frontline, activating the Star Guardian trait.
Items for Kai’Sa that work the best are Guinsoo’s Rageblade and Hextech Gunblade. Other AP items can get used for the third slot, with Giant Slayer and Statikk Shiv being the most popular options. Both Vayne and Ashe’s carry Hero Augment are solid options for Kai’Sa, should her own Hero Augments Multi-Shot and Star-Crossed not show up as options. And Raider’s Spoils, Ezreal’s carry Hero Augment is also a popular choice.
Kai’sa Double Trouble
Players can also choose to Reroll Kai’Sa when getting the TFT Set Eight Augment Double Trouble. No matter which Kai’Sa end-game comp a player chooses to run with, running a strong frontline is necessary.
When running a Kai’Sa Double Trouble end-game comp, players will want to focus on having two Kai’Sa, and two Nilah. Ekko slots right in on the frontline while activating the Star Guardian trait while Alistar reinforces the frontline and activates the Aegis trait.
Anima Squad Miss Fortune
Five Anima Squad isn’t typically worth chasing into the late-game stages but three Anima Squad with Miss Fortune, Vayne, and Riven is quite strong. Players can opt to run a second Duelist like Fiora to synergize with Vayne while Vi and Alistar can activate the traits Brawler, Aegis, and Mascot with the addition of Nunu at level eight. Full verticle Seven Anima Squad is also an option, putting an emblem on Ekko and Alistar to beef up the frontline with Fame.
Miss Fortune wants items like Spear of Shojin and Giant Slayer. Guardbreaker or Jeweled Gauntlet are both solid third options. Vayne or Jinx should have at least a Last Whisper. Other options include Runaan’s Hurricane and Infinity Edge. And all tank items should go on Riven or Sejuani as a secondary frontline carrier.
Patch 13.4 reduced the Make it Rain Hero Augment gold count during Stage three, slowing down the fast nine runs. The Augment is still good, as is Bunny Mercenary if your goal is to power up Miss Fortune and increase the number of enemy units she hits. Other viable Augments are Cybernetic Uplink, Battlemage, and Celestial Blessing.
Viego carry
Viego returned to the limelight in Patch 13.1 as a four-cost TFT Set Eight champion worth purchasing from the shop once again. The OxForce trait was slightly buffed in the update, along with Viego, who had his health and spell buffed.
Patch 13.3 fixed a Viego bug while having his spell damage center around the primary target. And putting a Renegade emblem on Set Eight champions like Samira, Aphelios, and Bel’Veth can take the Six Renegade Viego TFT end-game comp to a whole new level. No changes were made to Viego or his end-game comp in Patch 13.4.
The ideal items on Viego are Deathcap and Ionic Spark. Leona is a solid late-game Renegade with defensive items, especially Redemption.
Yuumi Supers Reroll
Supers are back in the TFT Set Eight meta following the launch of Patch 13.4, with Yuumi leading the pack as the primary carry. Similar to past Supers Reroll builds, players will want to slow-roll at level six to three-star the main champions in the end-game comp.
Yuumi still wants Blue Buff as her main item. The other two item slots can get filled in with a variety of AP options, with Hextech Gunblade, Giant Slayer, Jeweled Gauntlet, and Deathcap being the most popular choices by top-tier players.
The Predatory Precision Hero Augment is often rated higher than Zoomies, while Hero Augments from Rell and Nilah are also popular choices. Players can even opt to run Cleansing Safeguard (Lee Sin) or Guardian Spirit (Malphite).
A and B-tier TFT Patch 13.4 Set Eight meta comps
Zoe has become a viable carry once again following the release of Patch 13.4 while LaserCorps Duelist took a slight hit that knocked the Set Eight end-game comp out of S-tier status.
Zoe carry
Zoe is still one of the strongest AP carriers within TFT Set Eight Patch 13.1 despite nerfs to Blue Buff. Players will typically want a strong frontline to protect Zoe, which should include Ekko for the Prankster trait activation as well.
The Zoe end-game comp received some help in Patch 13.4 by fixing a Hacker bug that was messing up board movements, along with multiple buffs to LeBlanc, improving the comp’s mid-game results. And the Gadgeteen trait got a new Titan’s Resolve item that replaced the Springloaded Rapid Firecannon.
Alternative secondary carrier options can include Aurelion Sol, Nunu, or even a solo Miss Fortune. The key to running Zoe as the primary carrier is to make sure the frontline is as strong as possible, using traits like Mascot for healing, Aegis for magic resistance, Riven for Brawler and Defender, and Ekko for Prankster.
Zoe’s best items are Blue Buff and Hextech Gunblade. Morellonomicon is a great third-item option, as is Giant Slayer. Tank items should go on Ekko and Riven.
Lasercorps Duelists
Hero Augments that have been performing well with the LaserCorps comp include Spirit of the Exile from Yasuo, Absolution and Corps Formation from Senna, and Corps Focus from Ashe is still a popular Stage 2-1 Hero Augment pick.
Zoe is in the Patch 13.4 comp either way though, activating the Hacker trait for Zed. Ekko also synergizes with Zoe, activating the Prankster trait. Item holders are typically just Zed, wanting an Edge of Night, Runnan’s Hurricane, and Last Whisper as best-in-slot items. The Edge of Night is the most important item while other AD items can work as well.
The set Eight Lasercorps trait was buffed across the board in Patch 13.1 while the Duelist trait was adjusted. A system change was applied to the LaserCorps trait in Patch 13.3, along with new breakpoints of 3/5/7/9. And the Hacker trait was changed in Patch 13.4, having the hacked unit target the closes enemy and not the unit with the lowest health anymore. Zed is the primary carry of the TFT meta comp and a LaserCorps emblem on Zoe can have the build pop off for a lobby first at the verticle breakpoint of seven.
Players may not be able to force an S-tier comp to play every game and sometimes the game wants players to choose an alternative comp to their usual. Each of these Set Eight comps is viable to play in Patch 13.3, especially at lower tiers.
Bel’Veth Threats
Brawlers were nerfed in Patch 13.1, reducing the trait’s effectiveness during the late-game stages. But Threats is still a solid late-game option, with the proper Augments.
There is a Gold Set Eight Augment called Threat Level Maximum that gives all Threat units 75 maximum health for every Threat unit you control. This results in playing all Threat champions with Bel’Veth as the main carry. Players can also run Threats with the Augment Loaded Dice, providing two and three-star Threats that can dominate the mid-game and hold their own for a top-four finish.
Bel’Veth had a bug fixed for Patch 13.1, making her one of the strongest Threats to use as an AD carry. Ideal items on Bel’Veth are Bloodthirster, Last Whisper, Titan’s Resolve, Deathblade, and Giant Slayer—depending on the lobby.
Star Guardian
Taliyah is still the primary star carrier for the Star Guardian TFT Set Eight comp. Players typically like to run Gadgeteen during the early game while adding Spellslingers and Brawlers/Aegis during the mid-game stages. Running four Spellslinger units is an option but players may want to prioritize a strong frontline over backline units to maintain health heading into the late-game Stages.
Taliyah wants items like a Jeweled Gauntlet and the Spear of Shojin. Hand of Justice and Deathcap are both solid third-item options, along with Giant Slayer and Guardbreaker. Augments to watch for are Cybernetic Uplink and Jeweled Lotus.
