Riot Games has upgraded the Teamfight Tactics mechanic Region Portals for Set 9.5 Runeterra Reforged: Horizonbound, opening Portals to regions full of loot, items, ability boosts, and more.
A total of 13 Runeterra Region Portals are featured in TFT Set 9.5, containing two to four regional Augments. A majority of the regions feature a form of advantage during the early game, while others boost players during the early and mid-game Stages. Region Portals are the main mechanic of TFT Set 9 and 9.5, working in conjunction with Evergreen and Legend Augments.
All TFT Set 9.5 Region Portals and Portal Augments explained
At the start of each TFT game, players will choose one of three Portals offered on the Carousel. The traditional Carousel was removed for Set Nine and replaced by three of the 13 possible Region Portals for Set 9.5.
All votes from players are treated equally and are accomplished by moving your Little Legend or Chibi Champion into one of the three Region Portals. But there’s a catch: The game chooses a random Portal, as long as that region receives at least one vote from the eight players. Mousing over each of the Region Portals offered will provide a description.
Upon a Region Portal getting chosen, the Augment holder on the Arena battlefield will showcase the Region Portal that was picked. Players can then further inspect the Portal chosen for a full description. Set 9.5 added two new Region Portals: Bilgewater and Ixtal. No Region Portals from Set Nine were removed.
