An exciting shadow-drop at the 2023 Game Awards, combined with the fact it is free to play, has seen plenty of FPS fans jumping headfirst into battles to grab as much cash as possible while working alongside two teammates. So, how many players are getting in the action? Here is THE FINALS player count specific to Steam.

THE FINALS had an all-time peak of 242,619 players at the game’s launch in early December 2023, according to stat tracker SteamDB. As of Dec. 30, the 24-hour PC peak sits at just over 39,000 players. It’s important to note this figure doesn’t include console players.

THE FINALS has seen a sharp drop-off in player count in 2024, with the game last hitting 100,000 concurrent users on Steam on Jan. 7. Today, its player count fluctuates between 20,000 and 40,000 players at any time. At the time of writing, Steam Charts has the game just outside the top 25 for concurrent players.

THE FINALS maintained consistent numbers in the month after the game’s release. It’s worth mentioning the final open playtest for THE FINALS, held in November 2023, was significantly popular and had a similarly impressive number of players. According to SteamDB, the playtest hit an all-time peak of 267,874 players before it ended, slightly lower than the peak of the actual release.

Again, the figures today account for those who play via Steam on PC only and do not include PlayStation or Xbox players. With crossplay enabledTHE FINALS attracts many more at peak hours. While it certainly helps the game is free-to-play, judging by the numbers, it’s safe to say a lot of players enjoy the title, and it still has potential.
