Some players are being met with an error code 43 that reads, “There was an error connecting to the platform. Please restart your game client” when they load up the game. Fortunately, there’s a quick fix for this.

VALORANT error code 43 explained

If the error code pops up on your screen, you were probably alt-tabbed while browsing on your computer. For whatever reason, the client will sometimes fail to load up the main menu if you’re working on another screen, scrolling through Reddit, or even just picking out some new music on Spotify.

To get around this, close the client, open VALORANT back up, and wait patiently for the main menu to load. Don’t click on anything or alt-tab for just a few seconds of your time. Once you’ve fully loaded into the game, feel free to alt-tab again.

If it doesn’t work the first time, try again. You can even try restarting your computer just in case. If that doesn’t solve your problem, the issue could be related to Riot’s servers. The best way to check if this is the case is to head over to VALORANT’s server status page.
