Gearing progression is easily one of the most important aspects of World of Warcraft as players want to keep up with the current content and be as armed as possible when the next drops. In the first season of Dragonflight, one item has proved to be the best-in-slot for almost any spec in the game—Elemental Lariat.
At a first glance, Elemental Lariat is nothing special as it gives 287 Stamina, two stats you can customize using missives, and a chance to empower your gems, granting you 330 stats. But, this necklace becomes special when you combine it with Tiered Medallion Setting and add three sockets. In simple terms, you’ll then have three unique sockets that can proc and grant you an additional 330 associated stat.
No matter if you’re planning on starting your Mythic+ journey, defeating Raszageth in Vault of the Incarnates, or just want to enjoy world content, Elemental Lariat is a must-have necklace for most classes and specs. So, here’s how to get your hands on Elemental Lariat.

How to make Elemental Lariat in WoW Dragonflight
To make your own Elemental Lariat, you can either take up Jewelcrafting and farm this rare recipe from the Primal Storms events or you can find a Jewelcrafter willing to craft the necklace. Since Elemental Lariat is a binds-when-picked-up item, you can’t buy it from the auction house and instead, you’ll have to use the Crafting Orders. Normally, Jewelcrafters will ask you to set send your request as Personal Order and ask you to provide the materials.
Materials for Elemental Lariat recipe
Once you’ve got your hands on the recipe or found a Jewelcrafter, you’ll need the following items to craft it:
- One Spark of Ingenuity
- Two Shimmering Clasp
- One Illimited Diamond
- One Elemental Harmony
You can get Primal Chaos from dungeon runs or Expedition Scout’s Pack and Disturbed Dirt piles. Spark of Ingenuity is, on the other hand, a bit harder to find since it’s time-gated. You’ll get your first Spark of Ingenuity from a quest, and for the next round, you’ll need to complete the next chapter of the Engine of Innovation questline.
The only expensive item on this shopping list is the Illimited Diamond, as it will cost you somewhere around 20,000 gold if you’re buying it from the auction house.
How much should you pay for Elemental Lariat?
If a Jewelcrafter asks you to pay 20,000 gold for crafting Elemental Lariat, you’re definitely overpaying their service and most likely dealing with a member of Crafting Cartel. Ideally, you want to pay anywhere from 1000 to 5000 gold for the highest quality of Elemental Lariat, especially if you’re paying for materials. You can also find other good-hearted Jewelcrafters that won’t have a fee if you’re paying for the mats.
