World of Warcraft Dragonflight Patch 10.2.5 is an upcoming update that will bridge the third and fourth seasons of the expansion. It aims to brush up on the old-world content and give fans a lot more to do besides grinding Mythic+ dungeons and raids.
Patch 10.2.5, called Seeds of Renewal, will allow your Dragonriding drakes to spread their wings beyond the Dragon Isles and fly worldwide. The next major patch will also introduce a new “Reclamation of Gilneas” storyline, allow AI-controlled followers to join in Dragonflight dungeons, and add new customizations for Draenei and Trolls. There are also two different events players can participate in: Azerothian Archives and Hearthstone Anniversary.
The next patch doesn’t feature any real groundbreaking changes, as it’s only supposed to supplement the current season three content and ignite that spark to head out to the old world and rediscover it.
Here’s when the Dragonflight Patch 10.2.5 releases.
WoW Dragonflight Patch 10.2.5 release date
Patch 10.2.5 is coming on Jan. 16, 2024. Blizzard confirmed in a Jan. 2 blog post.
In a Dec. 19 post detailing the 2024 roadmap for WoW retail and WoW Classic, the team had only said Patch 10.2.5 would come out during the winter. Based on the cadence of patch releases, we speculated Patch 10.2.5 would drop during the second or the third week of January, and now we have a confirmation our predictions were correct.
Is WoW Dragonflight Patch 10.2.5 the last patch?
No, this is not the last patch of Dragonflight. In addition to a mysterious 10.2.6 patch, two more patches are planned to deploy after the start of season four and before The War Within. Those patches are 10.2.7, Dark Heart, to come sometime in late spring, and 11.0.1, The War Within pre-patch to come in early summer. The War Within beta will also officially go live between those two patches.
The two WoW patches after 10.2.5 will continue to progress the Dragonflight story while raids with new events and quests. So strap in and get your favorite drake ready, because Dragonflight still has plenty of has left in the tank.
