Since World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery was released on Nov. 30, many fans have been wondering when phase two will drop. Thankfully, Blizzard has made the announcement, and you won’t have to wait much longer for another band of SoD content.
Season of Discovery encompasses a group of seasonal WoW Classic servers that will supposedly last roughly one year, just like its predecessor, Season of Mastery. Including the release patch, Season of Discovery is said to have four phases in total, as well as an additional endgame update at the back end of 2024.
If you’re wondering when exactly WoW Classic Season of Discovery phase two will start and what it will include, here are the answers to your questions.
When does WoW Classic Season of Discovery phase two start?
The second phase of the WoW Classic Season of Discovery will launch on Feb. 8, Blizzard has announced. This means the second phase will go live just over two months after the initial launch of SoD. Further phases will come in the spring and summer, according to Blizzard’s 2024 World of Warcraft roadmap.
Confirmed features coming in WoW Classic Season of Discovery phase two
In a video titled “Intro to Season of Discovery and a Sneak Peek at What’s Next” on WoWCast on Dec. 1, senior game producer Josh Greenfield and lead software engineer Nora Valletta confirmed phase two will increase the level cap to 40, introduce Gnomeregan as a raid, and shift the world PvP event from Ashenvale into Stranglethorn Vale.
On top of that, you can expect even more Runes (new abilities) for your favorite classes. There are currently 12 runes in the game for each class, with more ability-modifying runes set to be added in future SoD phases. Bear in mind that many of these changes are still in early development and could change as phase two gets closer.
