In this new franchise set in a world entirely different from other HoYoverse titles, you explore a civilization that survived the apocalypse and now has to rely on technology to overcome a new threat. Zenless Zone Zero takes place in the post-apocalyptic urban environment of New Eridu, instead of Genshin‘s fantasy setting or Star Rail‘s futuristic space setting.
Despite being a different game, you’ll encounter familiar gameplay elements if you played other HoYoverse titles, including a gacha system, hack-and-slash combat, and the Drive system, which is ZZZ‘s take on Artifacts and Relics from Genshin and Honkai, respectively.
ZZZ release date
Zenless Zone Zero is set to release on July 4, 2024, on iOS, Android, PlayStation 5, and PC via Epic Games Store. As with any HoYoverse release, the exact release time and day depend on where you are in the world.
Unfortunately, a release on Xbox or Nintendo Switch seems unlikely now or at any point in the future, given HoYoverse games have never been released on Xbox and many fans are still patiently awaiting the promised arrival of Genshin Impact on the Switch.
You can sign up for the game on the Google Play Store and App Store to immediately install Zenless Zone Zero on your device when it becomes available at launch. On top of that, you can also pre-register for Zenless Zone Zero on the official website to unlock rewards for everyone with each pre-registration milestone. The pre-registration numbers have surpassed 36 million, and reaching 40 million ensures you get 20 Master Tapes (standard banner pulls) to spend in the game on new playable characters.
