THE FINALS is a chaos-filled, action-packed FPS game that could challenge the esports powerhouses of CoD, Apex Legends, and Counter-Strike. Similar to these games, being the best of the best in THE FINALS not only relies on your skill but your teammates’ as well. So look out, fellow solo players, it’s about to get messy.

The basics of the Ranked Tournament mode in THE FINALS are different from other regular modes in the game. A Ranked Tournament consists of 48 players divided into 16 teams. Each Tournament consists of four rounds, which are:

  • Three Knockout Rounds
  • The Final Round

The Final Round of the Tournament is a battle between the two teams that climbed to the top by finishing as one of the top two teams in every Knockout Round. The team that earns the most money during the Final Round becomes the winner. While you can get cash with every player you take down, you also need to be on the lookout for cash boxes across the map. Once you’ve collected them, you need to deposit them in a Cashout station.

How to rank up in THE FINALS

The Ranked Tournament is the place to prove yourself and show off in front of every FINALS participant. Similar to other free-to-play FPS games, THE FINALS has two ways to level up: Standard XP progression for your Career Level, and Fame Points in leagues. XP is used to purchase new equipment for your loadout—exclusive to either Light, Medium, or Heavy builds—while league progress is recorded through your Ranked Tournament placement.

THE FINALS has leagues and sub-leagues for players to rank up based on placement, kills, and Tournament wins. You can follow your progress under the leagues tab in the main menu.

For those who want to progress through the ranks and show off their skill, you need to unlock Ranked Tournaments by completing a minimum of 60 rounds. Level progression happens simply by playing the game, including Quick Play and Tournaments modes.

The ranking mechanic was made to be challenging, similar to those in Overwatch 2, VALORANT, and CoD: Warzone, to make the player get acquainted with the game properly before jumping into a Ranked Tournament. It’s also probable that it’s a way to prevent or at least slow down cheaters.

Each league in THE FINALS requires Fame Points (FP) to progress through the ranks. FP is only earned through Ranked Tournament mode and contributes directly to your season ranking. You unlock permanent rewards as you climb the leagues and reach a new tier (e.g. Silver to Gold).

Below you’ll find the full list of ranks in THE FINALS:

  • Bronze
    • Bronze 4
    • Bronze 3
    • Bronze 2
    • Bronze 1

All new players in THE FINALS have to complete eight placement matches to get their initial rank. According to the season two patch notes, you can expect to land somewhere between Bronze and Gold. When the season ends, you’ll see a small league reset. We expect this reset to be at least two sub-league drops in your rank, although this isn’t confirmed.

Be sure to keep an eye out on the Tournament leaderboard that is accessible on the League tab in the main menu.

All ranked rewards in THE FINALS

For those who participate in ranked modes of THE FINALS, permanent league rewards are up for grabs and include cosmetic items like weapons skins, charms, clothes, and accessories. These items are granted to players who reach each ranked threshold at the end of a competitive season.

Currently, the following rewards are available for ranked players in THE FINALS:

  • Bronze: Sticker
  • Silver: Sticker and a weapon charm
  • Gold: Sticker and a M60 skin
  • Platinum: Sticker and an XP-54 skin
  • Diamond: Sticker and an FCAR skin

These rewards are available as of season two in March 2024 and may be subject to change in future competitive seasons of THE FINALS.
