Team EnVyUs fought off a tough challenge from Gold Coin United to keep their spot in the NA LCS yesterday.
It was an up-and-down tournament tournament for EnVyUs, who finished 10th in the NA LCS Spring Split. The team first lost to GCU on the tournament’s first day, only to face them again after beating eUnited in an elimination match.
EnVyUs started the series strong, winning the first two games convincingly. GCU came back though, winning the next two games and bringing the final series of the promotion tournament to a deciding final game.
Off the back of Nam “LirA” Tae-yoo’s game winning Lee Sin kick, EnVyUs overpowered GCU, keeping their spot in the NA LCS.
With this, EnVyUs join Team Liquid, who reclaimed their NA LCS spot yesterday in the first qualifying match, which coincidentally was also against GCU.
GCU and eUnited will drop back down to the NA CS after their losses in the promotion tournament.
