Reignover is considered one of the best junglers in professional League of Legends, and is a team member that Immortals will be sad to see leave. Reignover joined Immortals back in December 2015, and left Fnatic with teammate Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon to play for the team. Reignover is best known for his amazing performances using junglers such as Rengar, Rek’Sai and Gragas. His ability to completely turn a team fight around allowed him to push Immortals as a team, and helped them achieve great success, for a time.
The squad achieved an impressive record in the 2016 Spring Split and took the No. 1 seed, but faltered in the playoffs and lost in the semifinals 3-0 to Team SoloMid. The Summer Split saw similar results, with a successful regular season campaign and No. 2 seed soiled by a 3-2 loss to Cloud9 in the semfinals. Immortals failed to qualify for Worlds, dropping in the Regional Finals once again to Cloud9, this time 3-1. After such a turn of performance, this is surely a contributing factor to members deciding to leave to explore other options.
Reignover is now the third member of Immortals to leave during the off-season, with the other two players being Jason “WildTurtle” Tran, and Adrian “Adrian” Ma. It is unclear as to where Reignover will go next, and if Immortals will be able to reclaim the greatness they once had. Finding a jungler to fill Reignover’s boots is going to be one heck of a challenge. You can check out the full announcement on his departure out here.
