The Immortals-owned Overwatch League organization announced the transfer last night. “The 27-year-old was part of the main tank rotation for the Dynasty during the inaugural season of the Overwatch League,” a Valiant representative wrote in a press release. “Prior to joining Seoul, KuKi played for MVP Space in [OGN Overwatch] Apex.”

KuKi joins the Valiant’s tank line, which includes Indy “SPACE” Halpern and Koo “Fate” Pan-seung. Following the release of Stefano “Verbo” Disalvo, Seb “numlocked” Barton, and Finnjörn “Finnsi” Jónasson, the Valiant roster now has 10 players. The core starting lineup remains largely the same.

The Los Angeles-based team went 27-13 in the Overwatch League’s regular season, finishing as a leader in the pacific division and earning a second place slot in the overall standings. The team ended up taking home the league’s stage four championship title, but did not make it to the season one grand finals, despite earning a playoffs spot.

As for Seoul Dynasty, this knocks the South Korean roster down to six players. The Overwatch League’s off season signing period is ongoing, but only the eight expansion teams are currently able to sign free agents. (Trades are ongoing between founding teams throughout this period.) On Oct. 8, the starting 12 Overwatch League teams will be able to sign free agents. All Overwatch League teams must have a minimum of eight players signed by Dec. 1.

There is no current start date for the league’s second season, but more information is expected in the coming months.
