Microsoft’s Xbox One update, the Xbox One X, launched on Nov. 7, and a few games have received patches that “enhance” gameplay, like Assassin’s Creed and Call of Duty: WW2. The powerful console has support for high dynamic range (HDR) and 4K resolution—and that has a lot of fans excited for the possibilities of seeing their favorite games in the highest resolution possible.

As it turns out, Overwatch support might be coming.

“[The] Overwatch team is excited with great possibilities Xbox One X opens,” Blizzard told Windows Central. “The team is currently exploring how the game experience can be enhanced on this platform to leverage the console’s incredible hardware, and is working on implementing 4K resolution in the game on Xbox One X. It is very important for the team to make sure the user interface looks natural on a truly big screen. We will share more details about our plans for 4K support on Xbox One X later.”

The developer hasn’t outlined a timeline for 4K support in Overwatch, thought the statement sounds promising. Overwatch’s colorful characters and incredibly detailed worlds make it a perfect candidate to test Xbox One X’s graphical power.
