A disappointing season in WWII won’t be enough to prevent one of Call of Duty’s brightest stars from competing next year.
OpTic Gaming’s Seth “Scump” Abner took to Twitter earlier today to confirm that he still plans to compete next season in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. In an effort to “clear the rumors and speculation,” Scump tweeted that he’s not retiring and that he wants to win again.

After winning the 2017 Call of Duty World League Championship last August, OpTic Gaming struggled when the scene transitioned from Infinite Warfare to WWII.
OpTic failed to win an event throughout the 2018 season—and this was the first year in Scump’s career (which began in 2011) in which he didn’t take home a trophy.
The biggest shock for Green Wall fans came at this year’s CWL Championship, where OpTic failed to make it out of the group stage and were sent home with a top 24 placing last week.

Scump is one of the best players in competitive Call of Duty history, and a lot of fans are undoubtedly excited to hear that he isn’t retiring. He’ll try to bounce back when the upcoming season officially begins on Dec. 7 with the first Black Ops 4 event of the year: CWL Las Vegas.
