FMPONE has set a reveal date for the new Cache map

Cache has been out of the Active Duty map pool since March.

One of the most iconic maps in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will return on Sept. 29 at ESL One New York’s showmatch.

Valve replaced Cache, one of the most-played maps in the game, with Vertigo in March. The map’s creator, Shawn “FMPONE” Snelling, took the opportunity of its removal to rework the whole map and it’s already done, according to an image shared on ESL’s Twitter account on Aug. 1.

Since then, ESL and FMPONE have been teasing the return of de_cache. Fans attending ESL One New York will have the chance to test it first between the grand final maps at ESEA’s booth.

FMPONE and the map’s original creator, Sal “Volcano” Garozzo, will also be at ESL One New York to answer questions about the new de_cache. FMPONE said he’ll release the map for everyone after ESL One New York ends.

Although Vertigo replaced Cache in March, the majority of fans want it to be reversed because Vertigo has been criticized since day one.

The pros aren’t happy with Vertigo, either. But Valve is less likely to replace Vertigo before Mirage, which hasn’t been changed since Valve removed the map’s skybox to allow players to throw more grenades in June 2018.

Valve could change the map pool again now that the StarLadder Berlin Major is over and include the new version of Cache.
