If you just lost a Rivals streak during the early access period of EA Sports FC 25, you’re not alone. It looks like the servers just went down for many on Sept. 23.

According to DownDetector, there was a massive spike in outage reports from players for the EA servers today at around 1:50pm CT. Many players posting on social media said they lost connection, and thus their streak of consecutive wins in Rivals mode.

Servers going down during an early access period is nothing new. Something similar happened earlier this year with College Football 25, leaving players unable to even access certain modes. But this FC 25 issue is tougher to swallow.

In FC 25, win streaks in the head-to-head Rivals mode in Ultimate Team give you a boost, allowing you to climb leagues faster. But as many players were booted from the servers mid-match, that streak is now gone through no fault of their own.

A quick search on Twitter/X reveals many players reporting the issue, complaining, and downright sobbing over lost streaks. But this is the risk you take with any online multiplayer game, after all. That likely won’t make anyone feel any better about the issue, but if it’s widespread and egregious enough, perhaps EA will compensate players for their time and matches lost somehow.

The early access period began last week for players who purchased the Ultimate Edition of the game, which costs a pretty penny more than the base game. It’s also available as part of a 10-hour trial for subscribers of EA Play.

But right now, not many FC 25 players are playing anything other than a waiting game for the server issues to get ironed out so the Rivals climb can continue once more. Be patient, as the servers will likely be spotty for the time being until full launch on Sept. 27.
