To become Doom in the Day of Doom LTM in Fortnite, you either need to be the first villain to claim an artifact for Doctor Doom or wait to be randomly chosen after the first Doom perishes in battle. The process for becoming Doom looks different depending on which method you use, so here’s a breakdown of how it works.

  • Load into the Day of Doom LTM and wait to see whether you’re a hero or a villain. You only have a shot of becoming Doom if you’re a villain, so if you’re not, you’ll have to keep trying new matches until you are.
  • Be the first villain to capture an artifact. Shortly after landing on the island, the first artifacts will spawn. You can see where they are on the map and you need to be the very first villain to capture one of them to become Doom. You can do this by visiting an artifact and interacting with it. The heroes are sure to try and stop you, so it might take a few deaths before you’re successful. Whichever villain captures the first artifact is flown up into the sky and transformed into Doom.
  • Wait for Doom to perish. If you aren’t the first one to capture an artifact in a match, the only way to become Doom is to wait for the active Doom to perish. Once Doom falls in battle, another villain is randomly gifted his powers a short time after. There’s no way to control who gets it, so you just have to hope you’re lucky.

The steps for becoming Doom are completely different from the process of becoming Doom’s Chosen in Battle Royale, but all of the powers, effects, and abilities work exactly the same. It’s pretty tough to perish in battle when you’re Doom in Battle Royale, but it’s much easier to fall in combat in this LTM since all of the heroes have powerful loadouts with all the best gear, like War Machne’s Arsenal, Iron Man’s Flight Kit, and Iron Man’s Combat Kit. This means you’ll generally have a few shots at becoming Doom in each match even if you don’t claim the first artifact when you’re a villain since he’s likely to be eliminated a couple of times.

If you don’t know what to do next after becoming Doom in this LTM, there are plenty of quests worth tackling so you can earn enough XP to claim all available battle pass rewards. You might work on damaging vehicles with the Unibeam while flying, eliminating opponents at dig sites, and damaging opponents in Landmarks. If you’re already done with these tasks and want a challenge, tackle the secret Stark Fan Club found quests next.
