The Fortnite Reboot Van is now back in Arena and Tournament playlists. The ability to respawn your teammates wasn’t removed from normal modes, but it was removed from all competitive modes.
The Reboot Van was removed because of an issue that affected scoring in competitive play. That removal conversely affected every Fortnite World Cup round since then as players were unable to bring back their teammates. Thankfully, that’s changing now that Epic has fixed the underlying problem.
This means that the Reboot Van will likely be part of the qualifiers this weekend. May 4 and 5 will be the fourth weekend for the World Cup qualifiers, specifically, for Duos this time around. With respawning back in competitive, it is possible that pros will be able to bring back their fallen partner during matches.
This will potentially change the entire weekend since pro players who didn’t qualify in previous rounds, like Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, now have a better chance to make a comeback even if their partner dies.
This also affects the persistent competitive modes like the Arena and Tournament playlists so even if you aren’t participating in the qualifiers, you can enjoy the return of the Reboot Van. It’s possible that Epic got the idea for the Reboot Van from Apex Legends’ respawn system, which may not be a bad thing.
