The heart and soul of Genshin Impact are found in the versatile and complex characters that players will find and recruit all across Teyvat. These characters make Genshin as beloved as it is, so it’s not too surprising Travelers are regularly looking to the future to discover what the next banner will be.
What are the next Genshin Impact banners?
Players can expect to see new banners about every three weeks, as long as miHoYo’s updates stay on schedule, which has almost always been the case except for a select few times Version updates have been extended. The banners featured in each update are always a consistent mix of new characters and reruns of those who were previously released.
Future banners used to be mostly based on speculation, but miHoYo seems to have changed its banner reveal schedule since unveiling content for Version 3.4. For each update from Version 3.4 onwards, miHoYo revealed all banners for the entire Version during the special program live stream rather than waiting to reveal the second half separately.
Those wondering what the future banner schedule looks like in Genshin can find a complete breakdown of all past banners and those confirmed to arrive in the future below. This information will be updated and changed as miHoYo continues to evolve the game.
Genshin Impact 4.0 phase two banners (Sept. 6 to Sept. 27)
After the first half of Version 4.0 concludes, two banner reruns will take over for the second half of the update. These banners will feature:
- The five-star Geo Polearm character Zhongli
- The five-star Hydro Bow character Tartaglia
The Geo Archon Zhongli will be featured on the fifth rerun of his “Gentry of Hermitage” banner while Tartaglia will also be enjoying the fifth rerun of his “Farewell of Snezhnaya” banner. Alongside both recruits, the four-star Cryo Claymore character Freminet will also become recruitable for the first time.

Genshin Impact 4.1 banners (Sept. 27)
Usually, you can expect to see one new five-star character and one new four-star recruit in each new Genshin patch. However, the Version 4.1 update will instead feature two new five-star recruits that have already been unveiled.
- Five-star Cryo Catalyst character Wriothesley
- Five-star Hydro Catalyst character Neuvillette
Leaks currently speculate that Neuvillette will be obtainable in the first phase alongside a possible Hu Tao rerun and Wriothesley will become available in phase two alongside a potential Venti rerun before Wriothesley then might be permanently moved to the standard wish banner.
