MiHoYo’s ultimate gem, the open-world RPG Genshin Impact, is a vibrant and lively game.
Genshin boasts a wide variety of characters that are the very heart of the beloved game and appear on banners that change frequently, which is why many Travelers might be wondering what the current featured banners are.
What are the current Genshin banners?
The current Genshin banner features the five-star Geo Polearm character Zhongli and the five-star Hydro Bow character Tartaglia (Childe).
This banner phase is the second half of Genshin’s Version 4.0 update, which features the two banner reruns following the debut of Lyney and Lynette in the first half of the Version that brought Fontaine to Teyvat.
Genshin presents its characters through the different banners featured in the game. These banners are available for a limited time, pumping up the urge for players to get these characters as soon as possible. Alongside the character banners are weapon banners, which are important for boosting your character’s overall statistics.
About every six weeks, a new version of Genshin is released, packed with loads of new content, including characters, weapons, quests, and map expansions.
Each Version generally has two equal phases across a five-week period, featuring different character banners and a rotating weapon banner. Some banners highlight the official debut of new Teyvat recruits and weaponry, while others are reruns of already-known characters and weapons.
Current character banners in Genshin
Although no new five-star character is available for players to pull for, the second half of Version 4.0 does feature two banner reruns. Both five-star recruits are back for their fifth reruns ever. They are:
- Five-star Geo Polearm character Zhongli
- Five-star Hydro Bow character Tartaglia
Each of the featured five-star character’s banners also has three four-star characters with an increased drop rate. For the second half of Version 4.0, the featured four-star recruits are:
- Four-star Cryo Claymore character Freminet
- Four-star Anemo Claymore character Sayu
- Four-star Geo Claymore character Noelle
Tartaglia is available with an increased drop rate on the fifth-ever run of his “Farewell of Snezhnaya” banner and packs a powerful damage-dealing skillset. His abilities are solid and her damage dealing is quite impressive, although there are many stronger DPS units around Teyvat, so he is not quite one of Genshin’s best characters but still holds a decently high ranking.
Alongside Tartaglia’s rerun banner is the rerun of Zhongli’s “Gentry of Hermitage” banner. While Tartaglia is outperformed by many, Zhongli is one of the best and is absolutely worth pulling for since no other character is capable of doing what he can.
Even if you’re unsure whether you want Tartaglia or Zhongli, it’s also worth considering pulling on their banners if you’re hoping to add any of the featured four-star recruits to your roster.
You will receive one four-star asset for every 10 wishes you spend, which means you have an extremely high chance of obtaining one of the featured four-star recruits when you pull for either featured five-star character. If you do a few 10 pulls on either featured banner, you’re also likely to obtain multiple copies of the featured four-star units, which then allows you to unlock their Constellations and make them more powerful.
It is quite difficult to obtain any specific four-star character otherwise as they all move into the same massive pool and never have their own specific banners. This means you will have to rely on luck, so if any of the featured four-star characters are among those you desire, you may want to consider wishing on either five-star banner for them.
Current weapon banner in Genshin
With both character banners, the special weapon banner “Epitome Invocation” is also live with two five-star pieces of equipment you may want to wish on. Both of the featured five-star weapons pair well with the previously mentioned five-star characters because they are the weapons that are designed specifically to suit them.
Current five-star featured weapons in Genshin
Currently, the two featured pieces of gear you can pull for are:
- Vortex Vanquisher (Polearm)
- Polar Star (Bow)
The first featured weapon is Zhongli’s signature claymore, Vortex Vanquisher. This weapon is a strange one and is not among the best weapons for Zhongli, so you should not equip him with it and should generally avoid it altogether.
The other featured weapon is Tartaglia’s signature bow, Polar Star. Because it was designed for him, this five-star asset complements Tartaglia’s skillset perfectly and is also a fairly versatile weapon that is a powerful choice for many other bow characters.
Both weapons are designed specifically for the two featured five-star characters, which means they complement them skillset-wise and how they look. Signature weapons will almost always be the best choice for building five-star characters, but they are often difficult to obtain since they run simultaneously with the characters who need them.
Current four-star featured weapons in Genshin
Alongside the featured five-star weapons, a group of five featured four-star weapons is also available with an increased drop rate for the second half of Version 4.0. The four-star weapons chosen for this banner include one of each weapon type and are:
- The Widsith (Catalyst)
- The Flute (Sword)
- Sacrificial Greatsword (Claymore)
- Dragon’s Bane (Polearm)
- Rust (Bow)
The weapon banner will be live with an increased drop rate on the “Epitome Invocation” banner for the entire second half of the Version 4.0 update. Once it ends, a new selection of weapons will replace them for the next update.
How long is the current Genshin banner?
Every Genshin character and weapon banner is always live for about three weeks.
The currently featured banners will be live for about three weeks, from Sept. 5 to Sept. 26, which is when the second half of the Version 4.0 update will then be replaced by the first half of Version 4.1. MiHoYo has already confirmed the next banners arriving in Version 4.1, so we already know which recruits are arriving next.
Based on Genshin’s usual banner patterns, it will likely be at least six months or more until these five-star characters are available for players to wish on once more. Because of this, any players hoping to attain either of the five-star characters, the four-star recruits with them, or one of the featured weapons should be sure to spend their Primogems and use their wishes soon.
