Time to save up your silver.

Dark and Darker is the magic and medieval evolution of the loot extraction genre, allowing players to take on their favorite RPG class in the hope of loot. With the game making players sell their wares at different vendors based on the item, it can be unclear where some things go. One of these items found in the dungeons includes the silver coins on some shelves and in boxes.

Silver coins have two uses. You can either sell them or use them in crafting material recipes.

When you get at least five silver coins, go into the Merchants tab and select The Treasurer’s picture. In his buy menu, you’ll see he sells coins in different amounts and the newly added gold bags. You’ll need five silver coins to buy a single piece of gold. Coins are really easy to get, though, and Silver Coins are a lot rarer, so my advice is for you to keep hold of them instead.

If you go into the Alchemist tab in the Merchant’s section of the main menu, you can trade 45 Silver Coins for an item known as Silver Powder, which alludes to it having bigger uses for those trying to craft and make the best armor.

I haven’t gone through most of the game yet, but I imagine Silver Coins could also be used in some quests down the line or have additional uses than just making a few extra gold coins. As mentioned before gold coins are pretty easy to find and make even early on, so keep a hold of your Silver Coins for as long as you can. You never know when you might need them.
