If you didn’t play this closed beta or the closed alpha in May, don’t worry; developer NetEase Games will likely host an open beta in the coming months, ahead of the game’s release.

Here’s everything you need to know about when the Marvel Rivals closed beta ended.

Marvel Rivals’ closed beta test ran from July 23 at 5pm CT (11pm BST) until Aug. 5 at 2am CT (8am BST). Following this end time, however, NetEase allowed players to partake in a trial for an “experimental update,” which ran for six hours until 6am CT (2pm BST) on Aug. 5.

NetEase has said the end of the closed beta is “merely a pause in this galactic saga,” so we expect at least one open beta to be announced soon, ahead of the (currently unconfirmed) release date.

Marvel Rivals borrows plenty from its contemporaries and bills itself as the next big hero-shooter. It aims to take on the likes of Overwatch and Valorant, but in such a contested space, it’s anyone’s guess whether Marvel Rivals will emerge victorious.
