The second day of Blue Group action in the Call of Duty World League Global Pro League was full of intense gameplay and upsets—but in the end, the teams find themselves completely level.
On the first day, FaZe Clan went undefeated, while Evil Geniuses didn’t even win a single map en route to a 0-2 record. On Saturday, the records were reversed: EG recovered, while FaZe struggled.
EG bounced back from their shaky day one performance by sweeping FaZe 3-0. The team came out firing on all cylinders, and EG rode the momentum from their big victory over FaZe to win their second game 3-2 over Rise Nation.
Rise, on the other hand, picked up a win in the first match of the day by defeating Fnatic 3-1. The Europeans fired back in the final match of the night by upsetting FaZe Clan 3-2. The series went all the way to game five round 11, but Fnatic prevented FaZe from completing the reverse sweep to pick up their second win in the CWL Global Pro League.
After all of the games concluded on Saturday, every single team in the Blue Group owns a 2-2 match record. Due to the tie breaker being determined by map count, Rise Nation is currently in first place with a 9-7 map record, while FaZe Clan and Fnatic both have an 8-8 map count. Despite their tremendous performance yesterday, Evil Geniuses are still technically in last place in this group due to their 6-8 map count.
With everything riding on these pivotal rematches, Sunday promises to be full of intense gameplay. It all starts with a rematch between Evil Geniuses and FaZe Clan today at 2pm ET.
