FaZe proved why they are the favorites to win the Blue Group with a 3-1 victory over Fnatic to begin yesterday’s action. FaZe won both Hardpoint maps in this series, while Fnatic earned an Uplink victory despite facing a 2-0 series deficit.

FaZe Clan continued their impressive play into the final match of the night, where they defeated the CWL Las Vegas champions, Rise Nation, 3-1.

Rise did earn a hard fought 6-5 Search and Destroy victory, despite an insane one-versus-four clutch by FaZe’s Dillon “Attach” Price. But once again FaZe won both Hardpoint maps, including a 100-point club win in game one against Rise Nation.

FaZe has always been known for their great slaying ability and respawn gameplay, so it’s not very surprising to see them at the top of this group at 2-0, largely thanks to their superb 4-0 record so far in Hardpoint.

Evil Geniuses, on the other hand, shocked everyone by dropping their two matches. To make matters worse, EG didn’t win a single map, being swept 3-0 by both Rise Nation and Fnatic. The boys on EG will have to move on from day one quickly, as they face off against FaZe in their next match later today.

Rise Nation and Fnatic both sit at 1-1, following wins over Evil Geniuses and losses to FaZe Clan. Both Rise and Fnatic were able to take at least one map off of FaZe, which bodes well for the second time these teams will square off later this weekend.

The second day of matches this week in the CWL Global Pro League will begin with Rise Nation facing off against Fnatic at 2pm ET today.
