Gold Coin United has revealed the signing of former CJ Entus support, Hong “MadLife” Min-gi, to their NA CS roster through an announcement on ESPN earlier today.
Madlife has been playing competitively for five years, and was a part of MiG Frost, one of the first Korean League of Legends teams to be created. This will be Madlife’s first time switching teams in his five years as a pro player. He has stuck with the original MiG lineup, even as it was bought by Azubu, and later CJ Entus.
Madlife is regarded as one of the best support players to ever player LoL competitively. His amazing mechanics on champions like Blitzcrank and Thresh have made him world-renowned.
Madlife, alongside CJ Entus, had struggled in the LCK over this past year, and they were eventually relegated to the Korean challenger series.
Madlife will be reuniting with former teammate, Choi “Locodoco” Yoon-seop, who is now the head coach of Gold Coin United. Madlife is the final player to be added to Gold Coin United.
Gold Coin United’s full roster coming into 2017 is as follows:
- Colin “Solo” Earnest
- Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen
- Kim “FeniX” Jae-hun
- Richard “Rikara” Samuel Oh
- Hong “MadLife” Min-gi
