Vitality has announced the addition of Charly “Djoko” Guillard and Lee “GBM” Chang-seok, thus completing the organization’s LCS roster for 2017.
Over the past two years, Djoko has played in the European Challenger Series. As a member of Millenium, Djoko finished second in the EU CS playoffs for the summer split and had the chance to participate in the 2017 spring promotion tournament. Unfortunately for Djoko, Millenium wasn’t able to beat Team ROCCAT, and were unable to qualify for the LCS. Now that he is joining Vitality, this will be Djoko’s LCS debut as a starting jungler.
Former Jin Air and NRG Esports mid laner GBM has role swapped to the jungle, and will be Vitality’s substitute jungler. After a ninth place finish in the 2016 NA LCS summer split, NRG and GBM dropped to the promotion tournament, where they were relegated to the NA CS by Echo Fox. It is unknown how much time GBM will get on stage, but Vitality has stated in the announcement that the situation is “not definitive” and that the two players will work together so the team plays to the best of its abilities in every game.
Vitality’s starting roster coming into 2017 is as follows:
- Top: Lucas “Cabochard ” Simon-Meslet
- Jungle: Charly “Djoko” Guillard
- Mid: Erlend “Nukeduck” Våtevik
- AD carry: Pierre “Steeelback” Medjaldi
- Support: Ha “Hachani” Seung-chan
