How to watch the Overwatch Contenders EU and NA finals

Overwatch Contenders is where the game’s up-and-coming talent is fostered. Since the inception of the Overwatch League, Contenders has become a minor league of sorts—where professional and semi-professional teams carve out their own path to the big leagues.

Finals for North America and Europe’s Overwatch Contenders tournaments are approaching. Held in Alwernia, Poland at a unique venue called Alvernia Planet, the Overwatch Contenders’ top teams will be crowned this weekend. Both the North American and European outfits will play out from May 12 to 13.

Who’s playing?

In North America, the Overwatch Contenders playoffs include Toronto Esports, Fusion University, OpTic Academy, and EnVision Esports. All of these teams, except EnVision, are tied to Overwatch League organizations—Boston is partnered with Toronto Esports, Fusion University with Philadelphia Fusion, and OpTic Academy with Houston Outlaws.

Over on the European side, British Hurricane, CIS Hope, Angry Titans, and Team Gigantti are qualified for the LAN event. British Hurricane is the minor league team affiliated with the Overwatch League’s London Spitfire.

What’s the schedule?

Everything begins on May 12. Europe kicks off the day, followed by the North American teams. Here’s the full schedule.

  • British Hurricanes vs. CIS Hope — 5am CT on May 12
  • Team Gigantti vs. Angry Titans — 7:30am CT on May 12
  • Toronto Esports vs. EnVision — 10am CT on May 12
  • Fusion University vs. OpTic Academy — 12:30pm on May 12
  • European finals match — 6am CT on May 13
  • North American finals match — 9:30am CT on May 13

Where can I watch?

Overwatch Contenders’ North American and European finals will be broadcast on Twitch in eight languages: English, French, Russian, German, Spanish, Hungarian, Czech, and Korean.

Is there anything else?

Yep! Following the Overwatch Contenders finals matches on May 13, Blizzard will hold “the Atlantic Showdown,” which will pit the two winning teams against each other to see who’s the best team at the LAN event.
