The Overwatch community will honor the memory of Overwatch legend Dennis “INTERNETHULK” Hawelka with a community tournament held in his name.
The former Overwatch pro and Team Liquid coach died unexpectedly at age 30 within the last week. Team Liquid owners Steve Arhancet and Victor Goossens announced Hawelka’s passing on Twitter. Details of his death are currently unknown.

Following Hawelka’s passing, the Overwatch community has mourned together, ultimately setting up a tournament designed to honor and remember the influential player. Called the Hulktastic Cup—a reference to Hawelka’s first Overwatch team—the tournament will feature a mixture of professional players and Overwatch personalities.
Hawelka founded IDDQD, an early leader in Blizzard’s first-person shooter, following his time with HULKtastic. The roster would then go on to be signed by Team Envy, where Hawelka helped the team win multiple titles. Later, Hawelka left professional play to coach Laser Kittenz and Rogue before landing with Team Liquid. Respected across multiple esports titles, Hawelka’s presence in the community will be missed.
The Hulktastic Cup will be broadcast Nov. 11 at 2pm ET on the GosuGamers Overwatch Twitch channel.
Team Liquid is also collecting letters of support for Hawelka’s family. Those interested in reaching out to Hawelka’s family are directed to two addresses, one in Europe and one in North America.
