Cloud9 is building a super team for the Overwatch League.
The organization will merge the rosters of Kongdoo Panthera and OGN Overwatch Apex season four champions GC Busan, according to an ESPN report. GC Busan players Lee “Hooreg” Dong-Eun, Hong “Gesture” Jae-Hee, Park “Profit” Joon-Yeong, Jo “HaGoPeun” Hyeon-Woo, Sung “WOOHYAL” Seung-Hyun, and Jung “Closer” Won-Sik have reportedly all signed to Cloud9’s London-based Overwatch League team.
Two South Korean free agents, Kim “Fury” Jun-Ho—formerly of Team Liquid—and Jong-Seok “NUS” Kim—formerly of Meta Athena—will join the roster as well.

Only four of the current Cloud9 Kongdoo players will sign over on to the Overwatch League team, Kongdoo confirmed. Kim “Rascal” Dong-jun, Baek “Fissure” Chan-hyung, Kim “birdring” Ji-hyuk, and Seung “Bdosin” Choi-tae will round out the 12-man Overwatch League roster.
Kang “Void” Jun-woo and An “wakawaka” Jee-ho will not participate in the Overwatch League under the Cloud9 banner. ESPN cited “disagreements with organization management” as the cause.
Cloud9 bought into the Overwatch League in August, first signing European Overwatch League roster Laser Kittenz. In September, Cloud9 acquired Kongdoo Panthera to create Cloud9 Kongdoo. The team finished out their participation in Overwatch Apex season four, where they placed third. Cloud9 Kongdoo fell to new teammates GC Busan in the semifinals. All former North American and European Cloud9 players have since been released from the organization.
Overwatch League is scheduled to begin its preseason matches in early December. The regular season will begin on Jan. 10.
