Only the most die-hard Philadelphia Fusion fans could have predicted the moment the Comcast Spectacor-owned team knocked out favorites New York Excelsior in the semifinals.
But the impossible happened, and Philadelphia Fusion is in the Overwatch League finals.
Surprised fans scrambled to resellers to buy the sold-out Overwatch League tickets. But what about a ride? Philadelphia Fusion’s got that covered. The organization has chartered a bus to take Philly fans to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
“We’re shipping up to New York,” Philadelphia Fusion wrote from its Twitter account. “Have tickets to the finals and need a lift from Philly?”
The free shuttle will leave from the Xfinity Live! center in South Philadelphia on both July 27 and 28 and head straight to New York. Buses will leave at 2pm ET for the 7pm match on Friday and depart from Brooklyn one hour after the match ends. On Saturday, the bus will leave Xfinity Live! at 12pm ET for the 4pm start. As with Friday, the bus will head back to Philly one hour after the matches for the day have ended.
Bus rides from Philly to New York typically take around two to three hours.
Philly is only letting fans with Overwatch League tickets get on the bus. Those fans must be 18 or older, or have a parent/guardian with them. There’s a form to be filled out online, but seats are first-come, first-serve.
The team is looking to pack the house with Overwatch League fans. A charter bus is one way to do it.
