The Philadelphia Fusion won’t make its Overwatch League debut with 11 other Overwatch teams in the league.
The organization, owned by Comcast Spectacor, is pulling out of the preseason exhibition matches following “player logistics issues.” Philadelphia Fusion did not comment further on the situation. Dot Esports has reached out to the organization for more information.

“Preparations for the regular season remain on track, as our players and coaches from 10 nations continue to scrimmage and work hard,” Philadelphia Fusion wrote on Twitter. “We apologize to our fans in Philadelphia and around the world who were looking forward to our preseason competition.”
Philadelphia Fusion was scheduled to play the Florida Mayhem at 7pm ET on Dec. 6—the first match for the long-awaited Overwatch League. The San Francisco Shock will replace the Philadelphia Fusion in the match against the Florida Mayhem, according to Blizzard.
“Replacement teams for subsequent preseason matches which may have featured the Philadelphia Fusion will be announced during the tournament,” Blizzard said.
With players from 10 nations—South Korea, Israel, Russia, Sweden, France, Finland, United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, and the United States—it seems likely the organization is facing problems in getting its players to California for the preseason matches. Philadelphia Fusion has 12 players signed to the organization, but South Korean player Su-min “Sado” Kim is currently suspended. The organization needs at least six players in Los Angeles to compete in the preseason matches.
The regular season begins Jan. 10. Philadelphia Fusion’s first match is scheduled for Jan. 11 at 7pm ET against the Houston Outlaws.
