Seoul Dynasty owner Gen.G is bringing on an Overwatch Contenders roster for season three, the organization announced today.
Led by head coach Lee Si-woo, the Gen.G Overwatch Contenders roster will bring together six Korean players for the 2019 season. Many of the players are lesser known, like Ye “Anges” Hyun-seo, Jeong “Stalk3r” Hak-yong, Kim “LUKE” Hyun-jun, and Moon “LVLZ” Sung-min. Former Samsung MorningStars Blue player Kim “DNCE” Se-yong and KongDoo Panthera tank Bang “Shubil” Min-joo round out the roster.

“Our goal is to provide the top players in Korea with the training and preparation needed to go pro,” Gen.G chief growth officer Arnold Hur said in a statement. “For that reason, we expose them to coaching systems that resemble the way OWL teams play.”
Hur said Gen.G will provide the Contenders team with English lessons and physical and psychological well-being training. “Simply put, we’re not just trying to just build a Contenders team for Seoul Dynasty,” Hur said. “Gen.G is looking to set the gold standard for how a minor league team should be run.”
Former StarCraft professional player Moon “MMA” Sung-woon will join the team as an assistant coach. His experience as a former player will be beneficial to the team as they work their way through the Contenders season.
“We have built a well-rounded team of players with great potential, despite being relatively unknown,” Gen.G GM Lee Ji-hun said. “They bring a high-level of passion and enthusiasm, and we will help them to maximize their abilities to become one of the best teams in the league.”
