The Overwatch League’s worst-performing team has vacated Los Angeles, trading in the Blizzard Arena for a new training facility in Shanghai.
After a long Overwatch League season—40 games, 40 loses—Shanghai players have “regrouped” in China to prepare for season two.
“All members of the Shanghai Dragons have now regrouped in Shanghai,” the NetEase-owned esports organization posted on Twitter on July 30. “The first thing we will do is to review and summarize our performance during season one. Then, we will begin to re-evaluate our players to create guidelines for future references.”

A video posted to Chinese social media site Weibo, later reposted to Twitter, shows the Overwatch League team’s new digs. The futuristic training space looks like something straight out of StarCraft 2—blues lights and polygonal shapes stretched across the building’s interior.
The players take fans through the space, showing off a variety of different rooms: it’s got a gym, recreation room, kitchen, and film room. Shanghai has been criticized during the Overwatch League season for pushing its players too hard. Coach Yang Van posted a letter in May detailing the team’s intense practice schedule that spanned from 10:30am to 10:30pm. A focus on variety in the new space appears to be a direct answer to those criticisms. See? Our players work out.

The Overwatch League’s season two player signing window opened today. Teams have until Sept. 9 to extend player contracts or trade with other teams. Anyone unsigned after Sept. 9 will become a free agent, open for any team to pick up. These discussions are likely ongoing throughout Shanghai Dragons’ off-season preparation.
