Last week, Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan posted on the game’s forum that Sombra will get a “significant” update in July. He didn’t give too much information, just that the rework will hit the Overwatch test server either this week or next. But Overwatch’s other Geoff spilled the beans tonight on the forum.

Blizzard is giving Sombra complete control over when she reveals herself from stealth mode. Yep, the Mexican hacker is getting infinite stealth. She’ll still pop out of stealth mode, which gives her invisibility, when she uses any other ability, but will be allowed to stay in stealth infinitely beyond that. Translocator has also become an infinite ability; now she can destroy the translocator if she needs to move it.

“It allowed her to play more and more as a scout/infiltrator for your team and also allowed her more time to pick and choose when and where she popped out to ambush her enemies,” Geoff Goodman wrote on the forum. “Now she has infinite duration on both Stealth and Translocator.”

Players will be able to destroy the translocator itself by looking at it and pressing the interact key. Stealth’s speed boost has also been lowered from 75 to 50 percent to even things out a bit. (Goodman said the ability felt way too strong with the speed bonus at 75 percent.)

“These changes are really interesting for her as now she is in complete control over when she reveals herself, allow her to time her hacks better for her team, or go for a back line ambush during a critical moment in a team fight,” Goodman said.

The update is expected on the Overwatch PTR soon. Goodman didn’t mention any other changes for the Overwatch hero.
