The best Ramattra counters in Overwatch 2

Rammatra is one of Overwatch 2's strongest heroes, so if you're struggling against him, keep reading.

Ramattra arrived in Overwatch 2 with a vengeance and brought the full force of Null Sector with him. The omnic tank is a menace on the battlefield—he can shield his teammates, strike from a distance with no fall-off, and dish out tons of damage up close.

Here are the best Ramattra counters in Overwatch 2.

Best tanks to play against Ramattra

Roadhog

Where Ramattra struggles with survivability, Roadhog flourishes. Since Ramattra is so reliant on healers to stay alive, Roadhog hard-counters him thanks to his ability to hook him away from his supports or pick his supports off, leaving Ramattra hanging out to dry like yesterday’s laundry.

Tip:

Roadhog’s newest ability, the Pig Pen trap, can also hinder an aggressive Ramattra. When Ramattra is bulked up and using his fists to deal damage, he needs to stay mobile. Pig Pen slows Ramattra’s movement and makes things much harder for the robotic tank.

Orisa

We love using Orisa because she can bully Ramattra with her Javelin, and her Fortify ability nullifies Ramattra’s Ravenous Vortex, rendering her unable to be slowed. She’s a real pain in the neck for the Null Sector boss.

Bastion

The tank-shredder, Bastion, is a powerful counter to Ramattra. We love how Bastion’s Assault configuration melts Ramattra’s shield, but the duration of Bastion’s tank configuration ability also outlasts Ramattra’s Block ability while in Nemesis form. That’s bad news for Ramattra.

Tracer

Since Ramattra doesn’t have much maneuverability, fast-moving heroes like Tracer can outmaneuver his primary fire. Ramattra’s Ravenous Vortex is built to slow enemies down and bring airborne heroes to the ground, but Tracer can blink away. Her escape skills are highly effective against Ramattra when he triggers Nemesis form.

Tip: Focus on quick DPS

Use agile and quick DPS heroes to get behind Ramattra’s shield and abilities. Flanking heroes like Tracer and Sombra are a great choice.

Symmetra

Symmetra’s primary fire rains hell on tanks, and Ramattra is no different. The beam gets stronger the longer it’s fired, and Ramattra has a gigantic hitbox in Nemesis form. As a result, Symmetra can deal incredible damage to Ramattra at a silly range, as long as she maintains contact with her beam.

Pharah

Ramattra’s movement speed and lack of movement abilities make him an easy target for Pharah, who can also easily outmaneuver any shield he throws up in her direction. We also love that Pharah can dodge Ramattra’s primary fire and stay out of his range when he morphs, too.

Reaper

Reaper’s shotguns wreak havoc on most tanks, and Ramattra is no exception. We love to counter him with Reaper because he can get up close to deal damage, then use his movement abilities to escape when Ramattra transforms.

Best support heroes to play against Ramattra

Ana

The anti-heal nightmare continues. Ana’s Biotic Grenade is a direct counter to Ramattra, as it is to everyone on the roster. Since Ramattra is so reliant on healing, the second he can’t be healed is the second it’s game-over. Ana is also great for temporarily disabling Ramattra with a well-placed sleep dart.

Kiriko

Kiriko’s Protection Suzu pots negate the movement-slowing effect of Ramattra’s Ravenous Vortex, rendering the ability obsolete when he’s trying to chase down slowed enemies for an easy kill. During our time playing as Ramattra, Kiriko has been a nightmare.

Zenyatta

Ramattra’s ultimate can be devastating thanks to its constant AoE damage. A direct counter is Zenyatta’s Transcendence. Additionally, Zenyatta’s Discord orb helps shred through Ramattra’s health pool, even in Nemesis mode.

Tip:

While Zenyatta’s Transcendence can keep friends alive, you should do your best to kill Ramattra or get your allies far away from him. If Ramattra’s ult continuously deals damage, it can last significantly longer than Zenyatta’s Transcendence does.

Illari

When in his base form, Ramattra is fairly squishy for a tank. This means he’s susceptible to any characters capable of burst damage, which is where Illari fits the bill. Her primary fire deals plenty of damage to Ramattra, and she can take him out with just a few well-placed headshots.

Now, get out there and utilize our best Ramattra counters in Overwatch 2.
