London Spitfire took home the Overwatch League’s season one trophy, but is now being awarded with a wearable honor—a WWE championship belt.
WWE 14-time world champion and executive vice president of talent Paul “Triple H” Michael Levesque tweeted this morning that a custom WWE championship belt is on its way over to London Spitfire CEO Jack Etienne. “After an exceptional resurgence, history was captured at the Overwatch League’s first finals,” he wrote. “Congrats Spitfire and Cloud9. Jack Etienne, this custom title is coming to you. #AcesHigh”

It’s an honor Triple H has bestowed on many before the London Spitfire, including Stanley Cup champions Washington Capitals, Premier League Champions Manchester United, and Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles, among many others.
The custom plates are applied to a leather plate, each of which are encrusted with loads of jewels. It’s not immediately clear if London Spitfire’s jewels are the real deal, but we hope Triple H would spare no expense for a championship belt—he does have a reported net worth of $25 million, after all.
In the Overwatch League grand finals, London Spitfire took home the top prize, $1 million, after sweeping runner-up Philadelphia Fusion at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. London Spitfire will be looking to defend the championship title in the Overwatch League’s second season, which is slated to begin in 2019. With the founding 12 teams, eight more franchises will be in contention for a championship win.
