The central boss you have to face off against during The Dark Horizon DLC for Remnant 2 is Alepsis-Taura. It appears as you progress through the N’Erud world, but the entity warns you against fighting it too early. Is there a good time to fight Alepsis-Taura?

There’s a brief choice you have before you choose to battle against Alepsis-Taura. You can charge forward against it, taking it on during the fight and bringing it down. However, you can do a few small things before this moment. These offer a chance to weaken the entity, potentially giving you a chance to gain an advantage against it.

Here’s when you should confront Alepsis-Taura in Remnant 2 The Dark Horizon DLC.

Choosing to fight Alepsis-Taura immediately is an acceptable choice in Remnant 2. The option to fight Alepsis-Taura immediately and wait to complete other tasks is not different. They’re the same, with Alepsis-Taura using the same format, attacks, and patterns in both fights. If you’re worried about fighting a different version, I didn’t encounter a different one, either by choosing to fight it immediately or by holding off on doing other things. The main difference is simply the rewards you earn.

The other tasks you can do include encountering smaller entities of the one that occupies Alepsis-Taura in the N’Erud world of The Dark Horizon DLC. These appear after clearing dungeons in parts of the map if you remove these pieces of the entity from Alepsis-Taura.

There are two connecting powers stretching out from Alepsis-Taura to different towers you can find while exploring The Dark Horizon DLC in Remnant 2. They’ll look like two beams of light connecting from the center. If you can reach the base of these towers (or close to them), there’ll be dungeons to complete.

After you complete them and get to the top, a blurry object appears behind a barrier. If you go behind the barrier, you can attack the blurry entity and discover it’s a part of Alepsis-Taura.

These dialogues are brief and only offer a little depth from the entity other than taunting. However, defeating them releases the entity’s hold on others within the realm, namely, the Custodian. The Custodian originally introduced themselves to you as the Gardener, and you can find them close to the entrance of the Withered Necropolis. If you find the Custodian after defeating the Alepsis-Taura, you’ll receive a special ring after a short discussion with them.

If you want to track down these two Remnant 2 locations, look for the large pillars of light connecting out from the center. You can find one in the Withered Necropolis and one in the Agronomy Sector. They should roughly be in the same spot every time you roll this world, though the dungeons you’ll have to fight through will likely be different, providing distinct rewards each time.

The differences between fighting Alepsis-Taura early and fighting them after completing these smaller tasks only alter the battle a little. I didn’t notice a difference with my Remnant 2 runs. You’ll need to run this scenario multiple times if you want all the rewards.
