Popular streamer Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek has undergone his second surgery to repair his left elbow that he injured in a scooter accident on March 11, Shroud revealed via Twitter.
Although he has been streaming mostly webcam-only since the accident, Shroud said he will not be streaming “for a while” after this latest surgery. He added that his arm “hurts like hell.”
The main objective of this latest surgery, as Shroud said during his return stream on March 14, was to insert a plate in his elbow. Additionally, Shroud will likely be in a cast and then a sling over the next few months while he continues to recover.
On March 11, Shroud was involved in an accident on his scooter when he suddenly hit the brakes while going 40 miles per hour, causing him to fly over the handlebars and land on the left side of his body. While the rest of Shroud was mostly spared, his elbow wasn’t so lucky.
Shroud had his first surgery soon after the accident took place, and the goal was mainly to clean his elbow and try to prevent any infection. Fortunately, the fact he underwent surgery today certainly means the doctors concluded no infection occurred since the initial surgery.
Before his injury, Shroud was among the most-subscribed and viewed channels on Twitch. And while it won’t be a fun recovery time, he will certainly be back at the top of Twitch when he inevitably returns to streaming.
